However, the term homework has several other meanings. At the most literal level, it is work that a student is assigned to do for no other reason except to fulfill course requirements. At the most figurative level, 'homework' encompasses all work that students must complete whether or not it is assigned by teachers or else for no other purpose than to fulfill course requirements. At the most sociological level, the term homework can refer to almost any work that students choose to do for any reason outside of school other than to fulfill course requirements.

Adequate time should be allowed to cover any lesson learned outside the classroom. This would include all lessons that students learn just by being part of a social and cultural environment. (26)

Secondly, the very process of doing homework can provide children with a very enjoyable experience.
